Trevor & Linda Adams from Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service visiting the Henschke Cellar Door.
"We will certainly recommend your company to friends who may be looking for something well organised and less ordinary when they travel to Australia. Highlights were the cooperage in action at Yalumba, sitting in the back room of Geoff Weaver's house talking about and tasting his wines, Maggie Beer's, The Lodge at Seppeltsfield, an erupting bottle of Henschke 1994 Mount Edelstone, and the wonderfully chatty lady at Mt Horrocks cellar door.
We enjoyed staying at The Lodge enormously. Craig and Graeme were the perfect hosts and terrific cooks.
What makes John and his tours special is his great knowledge of wine and the wine areas we visited. We had a great time, enjoyed many new tasting experiences and appreciated John's beautiful Daimler, the Royal waves we got from passers by, John's careful driving, his enthusiasm, his conversations and his professionalism."

Café Fidama - Duck and Pinot Night 2005
Part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, yet another of Café Fidama's food and wine matched dinners included Duck & Leek Vichyssoise with Wilson 1996 Sparkling Pinot, San Choy Bau and Hickinbotham Family 2002 Reserve Pinot Noir, Duck and Pistachio Galantine, Orange & Cognac, accompanied by a Ray Monde 2001 Wild Pinot Noir, Duck Tortellini with Beetroot & Ginger Vinaigrette savoured with a Te Kairanga 2002 Pinot Noir and "Quack au vin" with Celeriac Roesti toped off by a Louis Jadot 1999 Burgundy with cheese and fruit to finish.
We are still smacking our lips.
Any night is great at Fidama but their contribution to the quiet quality of Melbourne’s culinary experience and the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is outstanding.
Tucked away in Yarraville, a very happy and satisfied group of diners raise a glass to chef Mark Cohen and staff for another memorable evening.

Is it the style that makes them smile, or the warm inner glow that wine touring in the Barossa can bring on?

A piece of history...
This old slab hut is nestled on the property of Lake George Winery, adjoining Madew Wines at the foot of the northern escarpment of Lake George, just north of Canberra.
Fitted out by the original vineyard owner, Dr Edgar Reik, it is insulated against the cold winter nights with raw wool under chicken wire. The wool adds a "lanolin-like" ambience to it's charm.

Winemaker Franklin Houser and his charming wife Bonnie from Dry Comal Creek Vineyards [San Antonio, Texas, USA - www.drycomalcreek.com] enjoy the comfortable surroundings, food and extensive wine list of O'Connell's, South Melbourne. It all started 16 November 2002, with a Fax headed "HELP".
With the Housers' original tour to Australia cancelled, wine-region-tours.com developed quickly a tailor made, 27 day itinerary covering wineries and vineyards throughout New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. We also booked all accommodation & side tours, with other touring tips and restaurant recommendations through three states. With broad grins, Bonnie and Franklin acknowledge the generous hospitality of the Australian winemakers.
